Traveling in Asia is a journey and adventure encompassing a wide range of countries, nightlife, restaurants, places of interest due to their historical value, and cultures. From China and Japan to countries such as Vietnam, India, Burma, Uzbekistan, and more, Asia is a place where a visitor can experience many different cultures and countries, each with it’s own history, own background, unique values and regulations, and it’s own opportunities for exciting, new escapades. The first thing for a person who plans to be a guest of Asia to do is to decide on which country or countries to visit; and, with the number of choices to pick from as far as the continent goes, picking just one or a few, though a pleasurable task, isn’t a thing many would find easy to do.
A visitor to any Asian country should become familiar with the customs, culture, and places of interest available at their intended destination and carry plenty of credit cards, differing denominations of cash, and other forms of monetary resources. Guests of Asia can plan on coming across plenty of nightspots, museums, other historical venues of note, many wonderful restaurants, and other such places to spend their money. Each country within the continent of Asia is an undertaking to explore in and of itself, and travelers are in for a pleasant, relaxing, luxurious experience no matter which of them they choose from. Inside many countries in Asia, a trip to some of the popular restaurants inside a city or municipality can be an unbelievably sensual undergoing in terms of the quality of the culinary delights available to the guest, the promptness of service, and the authenticity of the dishes presented.
In addition to the sumptuous, incalculably authentic food many of those who plan to become guests of Asia can look forward to enjoying on their trips into their intended destinations, the landscape of most, if not all, Asian countries is another beauteous thing to look forward to. The beautiful bays, impeccable views of the ocean, ceaseless deserts, winding rivers, tropical flora and fauna, and snow-capped mountains which dot the land within Asia and throughout all of the countries inside of it can, certainly more often than not, be sights unparalleled to visitor to Asia who have the opportunity to see them. The natural diversity of the scenery and the plants and animals within it is altogether an earthy, unspoiled happening to flock to any Asian country to be a part of.
Lovely scenery and filling, nutritious dishes aside, another bright spot all Asian countries contain are the places visitors come to see for their historical value. Places like the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, ancient palaces, and residences belonging to long dead maharajahs are locations a significant number of people visit not to gain a thrill, but for the thrill of being at such locations which have such strong ties to the past and such a deep, real sense of meaning to the countries and civilizations which had a hand in making them. Asia is an extraordinary place to visit.

If you are a casual traveler you are probably unaware that there are big differences in the amount of legroom among the seats in economy class. Because most casual travelers cannot afford to fly business class they must sit in economy where there is much less room and comfort. Not all economy seats have the same amount of leg room or other features such as moveable arm rests, the ability to recline, moveable vents, power points, and audio and visual equipment.
There are many different airlines and passenger jets including Airbus, Boeing, CRJ, and Embraer. Airbus is one of the more popular passenger jets in the United States and finding a comfortable seat is not hard but it does take some research. Most people who travel will eventually ride on an Airbus and although there are superior seats in economy class you have to know where they are if you are going to request them.
Seats near bulkheads can be some of the bet or some of the worst. Seats behind a bulk head have more leg room than other seats in economy class and more privacy because there is no one seated in front of you. The drawback to sitting behind the bulkhead is that the tray table is located inside the armrest which makes the arm rest immovable so you will not be able to stretch out if the seat next to you is vacant.
On Airbus jets the emergency exit rows also have more legroom although the windows may not be centered so your view will be impeded. If you are traveling with children you will not be able to sit in the exit row, however, because children under 15 are not allowed to sit in exit rows for safety purposes.
The first couple of rows in economy are the most coveted because people sitting in these rows are the first to exit the plane and the first to be served. However, the overhead storage in the first row is limited. Most airbus models have a row of two seats near the middle of the economy section which afford more room because of the missing seat.
The debate between window seat and aisle seat is a personal one and everyone has a different preference. Airbus jets have plenty of both, but if you are a window lover you should know that the windows are not aligned in the middle near the exit rows so if you love the view those are not the best seats for you.
If you are need to sit close to the bathroom or want to avoid sitting near them because of the traffic large Airbus models have one bathroom located behind first class in the front of economy, two in the middle of economy, and two in the back. If you want to be near the bathroom the very front, middle or back seats will keep you close or they are the ones to avoid if you want to avoid all the bathroom traffic.

One of the biggest complaints of passengers on commercial economy flights is the lack of legroom. Because airlines need to transport as many passengers as possible on flights, they pack as many seats as they can in their airplanes. This means that here is not a lot of leg room for passengers in economy class because the seats are so close together.
The amount of room between seats it referred to as pitch, and it varies widely between airplanes and airlines. If you are looking for the most legroom it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the pitch of each major airline. With this information you will be able to plan a more comfortable flight.
If you can afford to travel first class, also known as business class, you are assured much more legroom than you economy counterparts, usually more than twice as much. The amount of room and comfort is the reason that business class tickets cost so much and if you are going to pay a premium you should get the most for your money.
US Airways have the most legroom in their business class seats with a very roomy 94 inches of space for travelers. American Airlines has the next roomiest business class with 89 inches of legroom and United Airlines is a close third with 88 inches. Business class is by far the most comfortable way to fly but most casual travelers cannot afford it. Premium economy is another comfortable solution.
Many airlines have premium economy seats which are more expensive and roomier than the cramped economy class but less expensive than business class. On average you get about 20 extra inches in premium economy than economy class, and although 20inches does not sound like much it can make the difference between being able to stretch out or having to keep your legs tightly folded.
American Airlines has some of the roomiest premium economy seats with 59 inches of space. The other major carriers, US airways, United Airlines and Continental Airlines give premium economy passengers 55 inches of legroom.
Even if you have to fly economy class you can still do your homework so that you get the roomiest ride. The major carriers allot 31-33 inches of space for legroom in their economy seating section although if you get a seat behind the bulkhead you may get a few inches more.
It is important to stretch your legs during long flights to keep the blood flowing and prevent a very serious complication that can occur called deep vein thrombosis or DVT which is a blood clot that forms in the leg because of the lack of movement. Always get up and stretch your legs for a few minutes for every hour you fly. This condition is sometimes known as economy class syndrome because it most commonly affects people who are sitting in confined spaces for hours at a time.
If you have to take a long flight make sure you get the most comfortable seat. Knowing which airlines have the most room will allow you to choose a flight that will be comfortable and enjoyable.

Everyone has their own preference when it comes to flying. Which airline seats are the best is a subjective opinion based on what makes each person comfortable. Factors such as legroom, seat pitch, seat width, audio and video accessories and power ports, access to the bathroom and aisle, armrest mobility, and distance from the door are all things that make an airline seat desirable or undesirable to travelers.
Although everyone has a different opinion, enough people covet certain seats that it can be difficult to get the seat that you prefer. Casual travelers may think that they can reserve a specific seat when they make reservations, but many airlines do not allow you to request a certain seat at the time of booking. You can, however, get around this by finding out when seat requests can be made. Most airlines will allow you to request a specific seat closer to the flight time, usually 24 hours or so before the flight.
One strategy to use to make sure you get extra room is to leave an empty seat between you and your traveling companion. This is a great way to get extra room but many agents are reluctant to separate people traveling together so that they can fill the empty seat in the row. If you make reservations separately and request an aisle seat and window seat in the same row it will be hard for the airline to fill the last middle seat and you will get extra space between you.
If you have been assigned a seat hat you do not like and are unable to change it, you may be able to sit somewhere more comfortable. Sometimes if you are one of the last people to board the plane you can sit in a vacant seat or even vacant row that is more to your liking. Most airlines cannot fill all their seats and will have empty seats or even entire rows. If you wait in the boarding area until all the other passengers have boarded and are last in line, you have the opportunity to sit in any vacant space. You cannot, however, sit in a vacant first class seat because airline personnel know who is supposed to be there.
The power of the internet will also help you to get the seat you want. Travel websites will often show you which seats are still available for a flight allowing you to choose the seats that will give you the most space. You can look at seating pans and availability for all available flights and choose the one that will give you the best seat. This also comes in handy when you arrive at the gate as you will now which seat is vacant and be able to request it.
Whether you prefer aisle seats, window seats, or seats in the front or back, there are a few things you can do to make sure you get the seat you want. Always check to make sure you are aware of your airline

Tango at La Viruta Buenos Aires from Jet Set Life on Vimeo.
Filling the void (when work is removed) brings us to some interesting places around the world. The most recent of which is taking a Tango lesson at La Viruta Armenian Cultural Center in Buenos Aires. The idea for this came straight from the Oracle himself-Tim Ferriss. If you prefer watching video over reading text, then watch the video above and for a good laugh go to minute X and watch Kim’s head tilting to show me where to move next. It’s hysterical. I don’t expect Dancing with The Stars to be calling anytime soon. I’m getting ahead of myself here.
In reading Tim’s fantastic book the Four Hour Work Week he talks about becoming a champion Tango dancer (on a mini-retirement to Buenos Aires) and how he trained at a Milonga called La Viruta. What’s a Milonga you ask? I asked the same question. By definition a Milonga is-a term for a place where Tango is danced. I thought, well, O.K. that seems clear enough.
Kim and I sat down at the beginning of the year and created our 2008 dreamline. In the ‘do’ category we decided to list ‘take a tango lesson at La Viruta Armenian Cultural Center in Buenos Aires’. We really had no idea what to expect and wanted to be surprised.
So, here’s how it goes down. The Milonga itself doesn’t really get started until around midnight. If you want to take a lesson you get there at around 11 p.m. You purchase a ticket at the door for a beginner, intermediate or an advanced class. Have a drink at the bar and wait for them to call your class. Oh yeah, it’s all in Spanish. I mean entirely. Not a word of English to be heard anywhere.
Our group (maybe about 20 people) was called to the dance floor and our lesson began. We had two instructors, a male (I think it was Lorenzo Llamas) and a female (I’m pretty certain she was Penelope Cruz- and BTW very pregnant). Our instructors give us very detailed and very fast instructions in perfect Argentine Spanish. Of which I understood - Zippo. The good news is that they demonstrate a set of Tango steps for us to mimic. The bad news is I couldn’t mimic squat.
After an hour of a hysterically funny and embarrassing Tango lesson it was time for the Milonga to begin. Imagine people ranging from 20 to 90 years old showing up at around midnight and dancing Tango until the sun rises the next morning. It’s really quite an experience. Everyone Tangos in a counter clockwise direction in amazingly beautiful synchronicity.
It got me thinking about life. It cost us five bucks to get in and 2 cocktails at the bar. That’s it. I say, don’t wait until retirement to experience all there is in the world. Use a mini-retirement to sample your deferred life plan NOW! It’s worth it. I promise.

The majority of those visiting Disney World do so in the summer. The reason for this is pretty simple, that`s when people have vacations and the kids are out of school. There are some great advantages to hitting the happiest place on earth during the winter months, though.
Benefits of Winter Disney
The main reason you`ll enjoy visiting Disney World in the winter is the amazing lack of people. Since the majority of vacationers won`t be hanging around the parks until spring, you`ll be able to walk right onto rides, often with only a couple minutes of waiting. Not only does this mean you get to ride more often, it also lets you see a lot more in a shorter amount of time.
The weather in Florida is warm year round, so you don`t need to worry about a winter vacation being too chilly. In fact, many prefer winter in Florida because it`s cooler than the summer months, making walking all over the parks a far easier task and much more comfortable.
It`s often worth taking the kids out of school for a few days to enjoy the relative peace of the parks during this season. You`ll find that you`ll have even less competition for rides and events if you hit the parks on a major holiday, such as Thanksgiving, when everyone is celebrating at home. The parks are still running and will be virtually empty!
Another fun part of visiting in the winter is that you`ll get to see the seasonal shows. For example, there are Christmas parades that you wouldn`t be able to see at any other point during the year. These are definitely worth watching and won`t be available during the summer months.
You may also find hotel rooms are cheaper at this time of year, since there are fewer tourists in the area. Look online for discounts ahead of time to get the best deals and you can end up staying very near Disney for a fraction of summer prices.
Planning Your Winter Vacation
Remember that during the low season is when rides are often under construction, so if there is one that you particularly want to visit, check first to make sure it will be running when you arrive. Planning ahead will make your vacation easier and ensure that it runs smoothly.
Buying park hopper tickets is your best bet, no matter when you go. These allow you to jump between the four Disney World parks and stay at one for more than one day, should you choose. Regular park tickets will only let you visit one park on the specified day and don`t allow for changes in plans. You may find that you`ve had enough of the Animal Kingdom after half a day and park hopper tickets will let you head to one of the other parks for the afternoon, if you wish.
By planning your trip early, you`ll be able to make the most of discounts on everything from plane tickets and hotel rooms to rental cars and park tickets. Searching online will turn up coupon codes and sale prices for all of these options. Your local travel agent will also be able to help you get good deals on transportation and hotels. Most hotels in the Disney area have free shuttles.
A winter vacation in Disney World is a great way to maximize your enjoyment of the parks. There are few crowds and your patience won`t be tested. It`s the ideal time to enjoy the thrills of Disney, while spending less time and money.
